Burnley eyeing a £10m move for Premier League Winger: A Wise Move By Dyche?

Burnley have undoubtedly been the surprise package of the season in the Premier League. They are placed 7th having picked up 34 points from 23 games. However, they could slip down the table in the second half of the season.

Under the stewardship of Sean Dyche, the Clarets might have had a great first half but have won none of their last six league games as they have drawn three and lost three, which is a sign of trouble. Besides, they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester City as the Citizens managed a stupendous 4-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium in the third round of the competition earlier this month.

Dyche must look to make some necessary additions this month to add more freshness to the team. Burnley don’t really have a balanced squad and perhaps need a few wingers who can provide the width when they move forward. Robbie Brady is out with a knee injury, and to cater to the need of the club at the absence of Brady, Burnley have already signed Georges-Kevin N’Koudou on loan for the remainder of the season from Tottenham Hotspur.

However, they are looking for another winger and the Daily Mail have reported that they are all set to make a £10million bid to sign Brighton & Hove Albion’s winger, Solly March. March has been a regular player for the Seagulls this season with 13 starts and 9 substitute appearances so far.

He is capable of plying his trade on either wing and this versatility of March could come in handy for Dyche, who has a relatively thin squad at his disposal at Turf Moor. March is someone who will not only attempt to aid his side offensively but is also found making defensive contributions more often than not, is good at winning the ball back and is a decent crosser of the ball as well.

However, he has not been all that consistent for the Premier League newcomers, as he has scored merely 1 goal and has 1 assist to his name so far in the league. The 23-year-old is still young and needs to fine-tune his game, so signing him would involve a substantial amount of risk. Perhaps a more productive and in-form player with notable pedigree and calibre should be targeted by Burnley to bring some freshness into their ranks.
