Arsenal were in good form before the international break, picking up two back to back victories, but they are back in action this weekend in a crunch game as they travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford, who have lost just one game so far this season.
The Hornets are just below Arsenal in the points table and playing at home, have a chance to muster an upset but Wenger will hope to put out his strongest side in search of all three points. Here is the predicted lineup he might field for this tie:
Team News
In early team news, Wenger is without the services of Callum Chambers and Santi Cazorla who are long-term absentees. Danny Welbeck, Shkodran Mustafi and Mesut Ozil are all doubtful and are sure to not make the first team while Francis Coquelin and Laurent Koscielny could be back in contention after a while.
Predicted lineup (3-4-3)
Defence
Though there is a dearth of defenders at the moment, Arsenal and Wenger should stick with a 3-man backline, with Petr Cech guarding the goal. Young Rob Holding is expected to play on the right side of the back line while make-shift CB Nacho Monreal is expected to take his place on the left side of the back-3.
Skipper Laurent Koscielny is expected to be fit for this tie and should play at the heart of the defence but if he is unable to make it, Per Mertesacker should be given a chance.
Midfield
With the defensive line a bit thin, Wenger would want to add some mettle to his midfield and should go with Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny, both of whom have been in a decent form off late in the Premier League.
Attack
With Ozil and Welbeck out, Wenger has little options in his attacking armoury. French international Alexandre Lacazette is an automatic starter and will lead the attacking line for his side. Chilean ace Alexis Sanchez is not having the best of times in his career but he is expected to slot in, in his regular LW position.
With not many options, Wenger is expected to use Alex Iwobi in this attacking role and will hope that his side can put more than one past Watford to take all three points from this game.
The injuries to key players might see one or even two young academy stars make the bench this weekend.
