Transfer Story
Leicester City goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, has reportedly been the subject of interest from a lot of clubs this summer and with the Danish changing his agent a few days back, it is being assumed that the player is himself interested in a possible move. The latest report links the 30-year-old with Everton FC.
It is being said that Jordan Pickford’s alleged price tag of £30m has thwarted Everton’s desire to procure the services of the goalie and instead Koeman is now looking towards Schmeichel as a possible option.
The Danish keeper is presently committed to the King Power stadium till 2021 after he had extended his contract last summer. But seeing the present situation and the ambiguity prevailing at the club, Schmeichel might be tempted to test newer waters.
The Danish Goalkeeper is said to be valued at around £10m by the Foxes.
Let’s have look at the stats of the 30-year-old.

What’ll he bring to the Club?
Given that Koeman is presently looking for someone with experience and consistency in between the sticks, Schmeichel might be just the man for him. The Dutchman has been impressed with the shot stopping techniques of the Danish International and it is pretty evident that bringing Schmeichel into the squad would add some composure and consistency at the back along with the right vision and aggression to detect and thwart early threats.
Moreover, according to experts, Schmeichel is now in the prime of his career, so it would behove the Dutchman to acquire his services for next season.
Worth the Money?
Costing at around £10m, Schmeichel’s acquisition would be value for money. Although a 30-year-old, he has still shown, this year with the Foxes, that he has the agility, reflex and vision to compete for many more years to come. Schmeichel, at the moment, is in the prime of his career and it would be a gem of an acquisition for Koeman if he could get the player.
