7 Goals And 9 Assists: This Serie A Attacker Would Be A Smashing Addition To Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have managed to deliver on a consistent basis under Mauricio Pochettino. They currently sit 2nd in the Premier League table, just four points behind leaders Chelsea. The Lilywhites have the momentum but are still the underdogs in the title race.

One of the reasons which could be cited if Tottenham fail to win the league is the North London outfit’s lack of good bench strength, something a club of their stature should possess. A look at all the other clubs in the top four and you could see that Spurs have a relatively young and inexperienced bench which was found out in the Champions League as well.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for former Liverpool attacking midfielder Suso who is currently plying his trade at AC Milan. The attacking midfielder could help remedy Tottenham’s only probable weakness which is their squad depth. The 23-year-old has scored 7 times this season and has as many as 9 assists to his name.

Tottenham doesn’t really have anyone to deputise for their Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen and it could prove fairly difficult for them to replace him. The fact that he has featured regularly and hasn’t been out for long spells, hasn’t brought into picture the need for a good back-up. An injury to Eriksen could easily render Tottenham toothless in the creativity department and that’s when a new arrival in the form of Suso could come into the equation.

Although Suso might not be ready to help Tottenham jump to the next level, he can certainly help in keeping the side ticking in Eriksen’s absence. There really aren’t any other players who come close to resembling Eriksen when it comes to creativity and chance creation and Suso has exactly that to offer.

Also, there are often rough patches for Eriksen who struggles for consistency, where the addition of Suso into the squad would help a great deal, who could not only directly replace him but make the Denmark International fight harder which could ultimately help to keep him on his toes. Suso has unfinished business in the Premier League and after being sold by Liverpool for not developing enough, he could be a brilliant addition to Spurs.

That said, a deal is far from done and his father has also insisted that the player would like to renew his contract but Tottenham could perhaps lure him to White Hart Lane where they’ll probably be challenging for the title next season.
