Tottenham Hotspur are considering a loan move for Barcelona forward Malcom, it has been claimed by the Daily Star.
Spurs are in a dire need to get hold of a forward player this month after Harry Kane limped off the pitch following their 0-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Sunday at the Wembley Stadium.
And in the latest update, the club has announced that the striker is out until March with ankle ligament injury thus landing a huge blow to Spurs’ season objectives.
Besides, their in-form attacker Heung-Min Son has also joined the South Korean national side for the Asia Cup and Mauricio Pochettino is left with only Fernando Llorente as his striking option.
The north London based outfit have been criticised roundly for their lack of investment in the summer and they seemingly lack adequate personnel to mount a sustained title challenge. They have collected 48 points from 22 games and are third in the Premier League table at the moment.
To challenge for silverware and solidify their position inside the top four spots in the league standings, they desperately need reinforcements this month and a loan deal for Malcom could be useful.

The Brazilian started his senior career with Brazilian outfit Corinthians and was then signed by French side Bordeaux in the January transfer window of 2016. His dazzling displays didn’t go unnoticed and Barcelona secured his signature in the summer.
However, he hasn’t been able to carve his place at Barca under the tutelage of Ernesto Valverde who has the likes of Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele, Luis Suarez and Phillipe Coutinho ahead in the pecking order.
The 21-year-old has managed to secure just 1 start in La Liga under his belt so far this season. He needs to ply his trade regularly and considering the level of competition at Barcelona, he is unlikely to receive the same.
A move to Spurs should enable him to bring his career back on the right track. Like most Brazilian attackers, Malcom offers pace, a direct approach and a bagful of trickery. Primarily a winger, he can operate as a no. 10 as well as a striker.
Although he has a diminutive frame, he compensates his apparent weakness with his creative instincts, quick movements on and off the ball and his ability to create genuine goal-scoring opportunities on a regular basis.
Besides, he is a technically sound customer and isn’t afraid to test the opposition goalkeeper from a distance. He is still a work-in-progress and with a loan spell under Pochettino, he would get the chance to take his game to the next level and would also be a lethal option for Spurs in the coming months.
