Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester United lineup vs Yeovil Town: Alexis Sanchez to start?

Manchester United take on Yeovil Town this weekend in the FA Cup 4th round and it could be a pretty straightforward tie for the Red Devils. After being dumped out of the League Cup, Jose Mourinho will want a strong showing from his team and as they’ll want to stop Pep Guardiola’s dominant City side from winning every domestic silverware there is.

Jose Mourinho’s side huffed and puffed against Derby County in the previous round but the morale is pretty high now after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez. Having said that, Mourinho could rest a number of key first-team players for the clash against Yeovil.

Here’s how the side could line up in the game

Defence

Some of the expected changes for United at the back are Sergio Romero replacing David de Gea and Victor Lindelof getting a run-out. The Swede played at right-back in the game against Derby but could play at the heart of the defence alongside Marcos Rojo who has returned from injury.

Ashley Young to returned recently from a suspension and could be used in the right-back role. Luke Shaw was on the bench for the game against Burnley and could be drafted into the lineup, playing as the left-back. United’s defence has been pretty solid and are yet to concede a goal in the month of January. Expect that to remain unchanged when come the full-time whistle against Yeovil.

Midfield

Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini are in line to start against Yeovil. With a key game against Tottenham coming up next midweek, the duo of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba are unlikely to be risked.

Another player who could get a breather is Jesse Lingard. He has been in stunning form and deserves a break. Youngster Scott McTominay is expected to complete the midfield three.

Attack

Romelu Lukaku might be rested for Marcus Rashford who could be given the role of leading the line. New signing Alexis Sanchez is in the squad and could be given his debut on the left. Integrating him will be the biggest task for Mourinho right now and who better to do it against than Yeovil?

On the left, Juan Mata is expected to keep his place. The Spaniard has had a consistent January so and will be expected to provide the creativity by moving to a more central role at times, with Young providing the width on the right.
