Manchester United shared the spoils with Wolves as they could only muster a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils saw a bulk of the possession in the game, but the lack of creativity at times combined with and some poor finishing meant they had to be happy with just a point.
Here are the player ratings from the game:
Manchester United player ratings vs Wolves
David De Gea – 6.5/10
Made a couple of good saves, including one to deny Raul Jimenez from a header. Wolves didn’t really threaten the Manchester United goal.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6.5/10
Didn’t let much past him defensively, and could have been better going forward. Might have ended the game with an assist had Diogo Dalot converted from a yard out.
Harry Maguire – 6.5/10
Mostly did well against Jimenez and Traore, and wasn’t troubled much. Got forward a few times to influence the game.
Victor Lindelof – 7/10
Formed a good partnership with Maguire to keep out Jimenez’s threat. Was solid with his passing as well.
Luke Shaw – 6.5/10
Could have got forward more often or put in more telling crosses. Defensively, used his pace well to recover the ball.
Fred – 6/10
Did well to recycle possession, and switched play well. But didn’t offer any creativity. His tackling can improve as well as he managed to win just two of seven attempted tackles.
Andreas Pereira – 5/10
Struggled for rhythm, and was moved around on the pitch. Hard to see him start once the likes of Pogba and McTominay return.
Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
Showed some good touches and spread the play well when he played deeper. Tried to test the ‘keeper with a few long-range efforts. Still needs time to get used to the setup and the new environment.
Daniel James – 5/10
Was poor with his crossing, but did try his best to stretch play and test the Wolves defence.
Juan Mata – 6/10
Failed to provide the creative impetus against a low-block. Was good at recycling possession, but he needs to come up with more than that.
Anthony Martial – 5/10
Another tough day at the office for the Frenchman who was up against a Wolves defensive wall and barely had any service. That said, some of his hold-up play and touches could have been better.
