Less than two years after signing for Chelsea in a club record fee of £70 million, Alvaro Morata could be on the move as Atletico Madrid are eyeing a transfer for the Spaniard.
Morata has had a disappointing season for the Blues so far and has received a lot of stick from the fans for not being as clinical as he should be in front of goal.
Chelsea are hoping to sign Gonzalo Higuain in the coming weeks, so either Morata’s exit is even more likely.
Morata was linked with a move to Sevilla earlier, but Chelsea have rejected their £40m offer and the Spanish side have decided not to pursue the 26-year old.
The Spanish international has scored just five goals in 16 Premier League appearances and his poor form led to Maurizio Sarri using Eden Hazard in a false nine role.
Atletico are five points behind Barcelona in the Spanish league, but have managed to scored just 27 goals in 19 league games and are hoping to add more firepower up front.
