Manager Jurgen Klopp has made a positive impact on Liverpool, since taking over the club after former Kop boss Brendan Rodgers was sacked the last term. The German main-man has lifted the spirits of the players and the fans and has pushed his side to their limits, which has seen them feature in two cup finals, though they failed to win either of them and ended up as just runners-up.
The quality of play has been one thing that has improved and many players have flourished during the tenure of the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager, who has made them look like a much better team, though the lack consistency is still a problem.
Keeping that in mind, one player who must be still confused what the future holds for him at Anfield would be Luis Alberto. The Reds had signed the 23-year-old attacking midfielder from La Liga giants Sevilla back in 2013 for a price of €7.5m.
Since then, he made 9 appearances for the club and failed to score a single goal. He was later shipped out to Malaga and Deportivo La Coruna on loan and eventually returned to the Merseyside recently. Whether or not Klopp needs his services will determine the fact whether the player has a long-term future with the club or not.
The thing is Jordan Ibe could be set for an exit from the club, as reports had been stating for quite some time. In that case, the Premier League outfit will need to retain all their current stars including the Spaniard, who has looked better since his move away from England.
Alberto looks good on the ball and is quite calm and composed. He has a good passing range as well, which has been his strong suit during his time in his native country. The winger can surely be a star for the future if Klopp nurtures him and gives him a regular chance to showcase his talent in the upcoming days.
Liverpool would not want to let him go, as they know he is still young and a really good player. They might look to retain him till they sign more big names and if they do so, then might send him away on loan. It seems that the player should get a chance this season to finally show the manager and the fans what he is really made of. Hopefully, he can make good use of this opportunity as it could be his last!
