Leeds United Player Ratings From Their Disappointing Defeat To Blackburn Rovers

Leeds United suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park yesterday that pushed them down to the fourth spot in the Championship table. Danny Graham gave the hosts an early lead that was cancelled by Mateusz Klich on the stroke of half-time. However, Darragh Lenihan’s goal secured all three points for Rovers.

Here are our Leeds United player ratings from what transpired yesterday:

Bailey Peacock-Farrell 6/10

Can’t be blamed for the two goals. He made a series of excellent saves to keep the score down.

Stuart Dallas 4/10

Dallas was disastrous in the opening 15 minutes and was bullied by Adam Armstrong. Although he improved in the second half, it was a forgettable outing for him.

Pontus Jansson 7/10

The central defender made some crucial blocks and tackles. In particular, he made a superb interception to prevent Bradley Dack going through from a pass by Ben Brereton.

Liam Cooper 6/10

Cooper struggled against Dack as the latter’s pace and quality were seemingly too much for the defender.

Gaetano Berardi 6/10

He was pegged back by Armstrong on a few occasions, but he did try to make a few attacking forays. Berardi bagged an assist for Klich’s equaliser.

Kalvin Phillips 6/10

On most of the occasions, Phillips stood tall to the threat which was posed by Dack. He was strong with his tackles and didn’t commit too many errors.

Kemar Roofe 4/10

Stationed mainly on the right wing, Roofe was rusty. Will take a while for him to get back to the level he was at before his injury as his first touch was pretty bad.

Mateusz Klich 7/10

Klich had a good outing as he added fluidity to the attack. He popped up in the right areas and moved the ball well. He thoroughly deserved the goal he scored.

Samu Saiz 5/10

The midfielder’s decision-making ability let him down as he often dwelled on the ball too long. His passes lacked the zip and were aimless at times.

Ezgjan Alioski 4/10

It was a mostly anonymous display by Alioski. He couldn’t get on the ball enough and lacked the cutting edge in the final third.

Tyler Roberts 5/10

The striker couldn’t pose enough of a threat to the central defensive partnership of Charlie Mulgrew and Lenihan.

Substitutions

Pablo Hernandez 7/10

After coming on for Roofe with around 20 minutes left on the clock, the Spaniard made an immediate impact as he passed the ball around well and added more creativity to the attack.

Jake Clarke 6/10

Made some successful dribbles after coming on for Dallas in the 76th minute.

Jamie Shackleton NA

He came on late in the game to replace Berardi.
