Transfer Speculation
According to a recent report by Metro, Arsenal are understood to be interested in signing Udinese midfielder, Jakub Jankto, in the summer. Jankto’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, has confirmed plans to talk to the North London based outfit regarding his client’s prospective exit from the ranks of the Little Zebras. Intriguingly, AC Milan have also put Jankto on their radar and are keen to make him sign on the dotted line.

Jankto blossomed in the youth ranks of SK Slavia Prague and Udinese and was eventually promoted to the senior side of the latter. In the 2015-16 season, he was shipped out on loan to Serie B side, Ascoli, wherein he impressed the football fraternity massively as he scored 5 goals and notched up 9 assists in 34 league outings.
After his productive loan spell, he has featured regularly for Udinese and has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the game. So far this season, he has plundered 3 goals and 4 assists from 25 appearances in the Italian top flight. Besides, he played regularly for all the youth sides of Czech Republic and earned his senior debut last year.

Jankto is a central midfielder by trade who is capable enough to operate as the no.10 as well as a left-sided midfielder. He is tall, well-built and makes good use of his body to shield the back line as well as to hold the ball. The 22-year-old is a technically sound youngster, is a good set-piece taker and gallops forward time and again to score goals and create chances.
Having said that, there are many areas he still needs to work on in order to better his credentials further. He is not an astute passer of the ball and many times, his range of distribution have been questioned. Besides, he needs to contribute more during his time on the pitch to meet his defensive duties. Nonetheless, he has shown great promise and has the potential to be a complete midfielder in the near future.
Will He Be A Good Signing For Arsenal?
Arsenal have been scouting Jankto for quite some time now and seem to believe he has the necessary calibre to be a success in the future at the Emirates. Due to his knack to contribute in the final third, he could be an ideal replacement for the ageing and injured Santi Cazorla and there is no denying that Arsenal would strike gold if they manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
