Everton will look to build on the victory secured last weekend when they welcome Newcastle United at Goodison Park on Thursday evening in the Premier League.
Following a dismal end to November in which the club were deducted 10 points by the Premier League for financial irregularities before suffering a disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United, the Toffees picked themselves up and claimed three valuable points in a dogged win over Nottingham Forest last weekend.
It was the Sean Dyche-managed side’s third win in a row away from home, helping them to climb off the foot of the table and up to 18th place. So, they will be in a buoyant mood ahead of facing Newcastle, who have beaten Chelsea and Man United at home since the Premier League resumed.
Everton Team News
Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed the trip to Nottingham Forest with a calf problem and is set to be assessed ahead of the game against Newcastle, but Amadou Onana, Andre Gomes (both calf) and Dele Alli (groin) remain in the treatment room.

Goalkeeper
Jordan Pickford will be eyeing back-to-back clean sheets in the Premier League when Newcastle visits Everton on Thursday evening.
Defence
Sean Dyche is expected to name an unchanged back four against Newcastle, meaning Ashley Young, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko all start here.
Tarkowski will continue his growing partnership with young Branthwaite in central defence, while Young and Mykolenko hold their positions at full-back. The full-backs will look to protect the central defence and provide width to the side as well.
Midfield
James Garner will start alongside Idrissa Gueye in the middle of the park. The two players will look to keep things ticking in the Everton engine room, whilst trying to disrupt Newcastle’s natural build-up play.
Jack Harrison and Dwight McNeil should act as the wide midfielders again, with the duo tasked with providing creativity, energy and width to the attack as well as helping out the central midfielders when needed. Dyche will expect both Harrison and McNeil to drop deep and make the midfield compact when Everton are not in possession.
Attack
The potential absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin will likely see summer signing Beto lead the Everton attack again, with support provided by Abdoulaye Doucoure from the No.10 role. Beto and Doucoure must link up well in the final third to try and cause Newcastle defenders some problems in midweek.
Arnaut Danjuma and Youssef Chermiti could be involved at some point in the second half of the game at Goodison Park.
