Newcastle Readying Massive £50m Bid For Sensational Winger

Newcastle United have reportedly entered the transfer race for Shakhtar Donetsk’s highly-rated winger, Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Having come through the Shakhtar Donetsk academy, the Ukraine international has emerged as one of the top prospects in European football. Over the summer, the young winger’s meteoric rise at Shakhtar has attracted concrete Premier League interest.

According to The i, Newcastle United are considering a big-money move for Mykhaylo Mudryk. They have scouted the young wideman and are said to be weighing up a £50million bid. However, the Magpies will face competition from Arsenal, Everton and Brentford, while Liverpool have also been linked with the 21-year-old prospect, the report adds.

Mudryk, 21, has enjoyed a brilliant start to the new campaign, starring in the Champions League group stages with two goals and as many assists in two outings. He has quickly become a first-choice starter for the Ukraine national team, having only made his debut in June.

Mykhaylo Mudryk to Newcastle United—A solid option?

Newcastle United made a statement in the past summer window by smashing their transfer record for Alexander Isak and would not be fazed by Shakhtar Donetsk’s high valuation of Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Toon Army have endured a slow start to the 2022/23 season, recording five draws and a win in seven games. They remain 10th on the table and could free up funds for Eddie Howe to spend in the January transfer window.

Eddie Howe wants to add creativity to his side, with Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joe Willock failing to deliver the goods consistently so far. He has built his reputation on nurturing young and talented players, so adding someone with a high ceiling like Mudryk would be a smart long-term investment.

Mudryk is widely regarded as the next big thing in Ukrainian football since his breakthrough at Shakhtar Donetsk last year. With blistering pace, powerful shots, natural dribbling and finishing quality, he has the attributes to sustain the rugged nature of Premier League football, and his desire to compete until the last blow of the whistle could see him go a long way in the future.

Newcastle United might be ready to pounce on Mudryk if a suitable opportunity arises. He is a young talent on the radars of European bigwigs, and the fleet-footed winger could provide Howe’s Newcastle attack with the much-needed creativity and flair.

If the Ukrainian keeps performing in the coming months, his stock would only rise. And keeping in mind the interest he is attracting from Europe’s every corner, Newcastle would be wise to splash big on Mudryk when the transfer window reopens in January.
