Tottenham Hotspur travel to Manchester United on Saturday looking to register a third successive league win for the first time since December.
Spurs have lacked consistency under Antonio Conte but they remain in the hunt for a top-four spot. The Lilywhites trail fourth-placed Arsenal by three points having played a game more.
The north London club come into this clash on the back of a 5-0 humbling of Everton. The win helped Spurs overcome their disappointing FA Cup exit at the hands of Middlesbrough a few days prior.
The last meeting between Manchester United and Tottenham ended in a 3-0 victory for the Red Devils.
Tottenham Hotspur Team News
Spurs will be without Japhet Tanganga and Oliver Skipp through injury. Ryan Sessegnon will also miss out after limping off in the 5-0 win against Everton.
Predicted Tottenham lineup vs Manchester United (3-4-3)
Goalkeeper
Hugo Lloris will start in goal for Spurs. Only three keepers in the Premier League have kept more clean sheets than Lloris’ tally of 10 this season.
Defenders
Conte is unlikely to tinker with his preferred three-man backline for such an important fixture. Eric Dier has impressed after returning from injury and he will partner Cristian Romero and Ben Davies in central defence in the Tottenham lineup.
Davinson Sanchez is another option Conte could look at, possibly in place of Davies to add more steel to the defence, but the Colombian has struggled this season and will likely have to settle for a spot on the bench.
Matt Doherty appears to have established himself as Spurs’ first-choice right wing-back ahead of Emerson Royal. He provided a couple of assists in the win against Everton, underlining his importance to the team.
With Ryan Sessegnon unavailable for this game, Sergio Reguilon will likely start at left wing-back in the Tottenham lineup.
Midfielders
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will continue to partner January signing Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield.
While Hojbjerg will be tasked with doing the dirty work and shielding the backline, Bentancur’s ability in possession will be instrumental in building attacks from deep.
Attackers
Dejan Kulusevski has been a revelation for Spurs on the right flank since arriving on loan from Juventus in January. He’s scored twice and provided three assists in just eight appearances for the north London club in all competitions.
Harry Kane will lead the line for Tottenham once again. The Englishman netted twice against Everton, taking his tally to 20 in all competitions this season. He is now sixth on the list of highest scorers in Premier League history and trails Frank Lampard by just one goal.
Son Heung-Min will continue on the left flank in the Tottenham lineup. The South Korean will relish the prospect of running at a Manchester United defence that shipped four goals in their last league outing.
