Man United Ready To Reignite Interest In Top English Striker: Excellent Option For The Club

Manchester United are confident of attracting top names to Old Trafford even if they fail to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League. This comes as per ESPN

United have been linked with Declan Rice and Harry Kane in the recent past. Manchester City have also been linked with a swoop for the English duo. The race for Declan Rice is likely to blow up in the summer but as far as Manchester City are concerned, the train seems to have left the station for Harry Kane. Consequently, the Red Devils will now be in a strong position to land Kane, with City keen on Erling Haaland.

But, both Harry Kane and Rice have made it abundantly clear that they want to compete for major trophies, including the UCL.

The report states that United are ready to spend next summer, regardless of a potential top-four finish this season. The think-tank at Old Trafford are taking inspiration from their signing of Paul Pogba for a record £89.3 million fee, with a season due in the Europa League.

United are being chased by Arsenal, Wolves, Tottenham, and West Ham for the fourth spot. Apart from West Ham, the remaining three teams have got games in hand with Arsenal closing the gap to one point with two games in hand.

ESPN also understands that the main idea at United is to support the new man in charge, who will take over next summer. It is likely that the successor to Ralf Rangnick will be announced before the start of the pre-season, next summer.

Is Harry Kane the right option for Manchester United?

Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the game, currently. His stats this season might not suggest the same but his form in the last few weeks certainly does reinforce that fact. Manchester United need a striker and Kane is the perfect option for them.

Kane, 28, still has a lot to offer and if Spurs fail to qualify for UCL, it is likely that he will push to leave the Lilywhites with trophies still always a possibility at Old Trafford despite their recent struggles.

Kane’s playing style is for everyone to see but he is the kind of striker the Red Devils lack. Kane is someone who not only finishes but also participates in the build-up. Playing for Spurs, the English international has displayed his playmaking skills as well. Having said that, the potential arrival of the star striker could well end Ronaldo’s time at Old Trafford.

Kane is good with his passing, and goal-leading actions. He likes to play long-balls and is a threat when it comes to counter-attacks. Harry Kane can flourish in the current United set-up of playing on the break. But, European football, whether it is the Europa League or UEFA Champions League, is a must to grab his signature.

United seem likely to go for Kane, now that City have expressed their interest in Erling Haaland. Moreover, he is a proven performer with a wealth of experience in the Premier League and despite his trophy cabinet being empty, the hunger to make sure that changes before the end of his career, will spur on his potential teammates in the coming seasons.
