Rashford & Greenwood Up Front: 5-3-2 Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs Arsenal

After a superb 5-0 win against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, Manchester United host Arsenal in the Premier League today. The Red Devils are undefeated in their last four games, seemingly turning a corner after the walloping they got at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.

United dominated against Chelsea last weekend, but could not score, while they put five past Leipzig in Europe. The last time Arsenal and Manchester United met at Old Trafford, the match ended 1-1, but the Gunners defeated United at the Emirates later in the season.

Predicted Manchester United lineup for the game against Arsenal (5-3-2)

Team News

Defenders Phil Jones and Eric Bailly, and midfielder Jesse Lingard will miss the game through injury, while Anthony Martial is suspended. Alex Telles has contracted COVID-19 and will be unavailable for this game.

Goalkeeper

David de Gea should feature between the sticks in the Manchester United lineup today.

Defence

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer played a back four last weekend against Chelsea, while Blues manager Frank Lampard opted for a five-man backline.

Mikel Arteta has employed a five-man defence lately and Solskjaer may want to mirror that formation.

Axel Tuanzebe, who was impressive against PSG, did not feature in the game against Chelsea, while he came on as a substitute against Leipzig. The youngster being rested for the Champions League is perhaps the biggest hint that Solskjaer will play a three-man backline.

Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Tuanzebe could play at the back, while Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could play as the two wing-backs in the Manchester United lineup.

Midfield

Fred was exceptional against Leipzig and he should start alongside Scott McTominay in midfield.

Bruno Fernandes did not start against Leipzig but was brought on and the Portuguese attacking midfielder made a big impact, setting up a goal for Marcus Rashford.

He should start against Arsenal in the No.10 role in the Manchester United lineup.

Donny van de Beek, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba are other options for Solskjaer in midfield.

Attack

Marcus Rashford was the star of the show against Leipzig, scoring his first hat-trick for the club. He should play up top, with Mason Greenwood playing alongside him in the Manchester United lineup.

Edinson Cavani will be an option off the bench for Solskjaer, as will Daniel James and the resurgent Juan Mata, in the wide areas.
