Son & Moura On The Flanks: Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup vs Newcastle United

After their poor start to the season, Tottenham Hotspur have won three on the bounce in all competitions, scoring 10 goals in the process. Spurs, after their 5-2 win over Southampton in the league, will face Newcastle United at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday.

Spurs won their mid-week Europa League qualification game against Macedonian club KF Shkendija, defeating the European minnows 3-1.

The north London side lost to Newcastle United last season but won the reverse fixture at St. James’ Park.

Predicted Tottenham Lineup vs Newcastle United (4-3-3/4-2-3-1)

Team News

New signings Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon will miss the game against Newcastle United, while defender Japhet Tanganga will also be out due to injury.

Spurs don’t have any suspensions going into the game against Newcastle United.

Goalkeeper

Joe Hart started in goal for the mid-week Europa League game, but captain and first-choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris should start in goal in the Tottenham lineup.

Defence

Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez started at the back for the Europa League game, but we could see Alderweireld drop to the bench against the Magpies, with Eric Dier taking his place at centre-back.

Serge Aurier should also make way for Matt Doherty at right-back, while Ben Davies should retain his place at left-back in the Tottenham lineup.

Midfield

Tanguy Ndombélé, who looked set to leave Spurs and didn’t look like he would ever play for them as long as Jose Mourinho was in charge, has started the last two games. He played the first half of the game against Southampton while playing the entire Europa League fixture and thus fitness issues might hinder the possibility of another start.

We could see him drop to the bench with Giovani Lo Celso replacing him in the Tottenham lineup. Lo Celso could play alongside Harry Winks and new signing, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Dele Alli, who returned to the Spurs starting XI in the mid-week game, could be an option off the bench, as is Moussa Sissoko.

Attack

Son Heung-min has had a fantastic week, scoring 4 against Southampton, and also scoring once again in the Europa League game. He should retain his place on the left, with Lucas Moura and Harry Kane completing the attacking unit in the Tottenham lineup.
