Rodriguez and Richarlison in Attack: Predicted 4-3-3 Everton Lineup vs West Brom

After their promising win on the opening weekend of the 2020-21 Premier League season against Tottenham, Everton registered another win against Salford City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. The Toffees face newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion on Saturday at Goodison Park, and they will hope to keep their winning run going.

Carlo Ancelotti’s new-look Everton side have star power and strength, especially in midfield, and they could be too good for West Brom this weekend.

The last time these two sides met was back in 2018, and they settled for a 1-1 draw.

Everton Team News

Ancelotti recently revealed that central defender Mason Holgate will be out for longer than thought. He, along with Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin, will miss this weekend’s game. Delph is not match-fit, but is nearing a return.

Young centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite suffered an injury against Salford City and he will also miss the game against Fulham.

Let’s take a look at the possible Everton lineup for the game against West Bromwich Albion.

Predicted Everton Lineup vs West Brom

Goalkeeper

Jordan Pickford didn’t play the Carabao Cup game, but he should return to the Everton team against Fulham.

Defence

Michael Keane played the entire game against Salford City and even got himself on the scoresheet. He should start alongside Yerry Mina at the back. Ancelotti will hope that neither of his centre-backs get injured as he doesn’t have any other first-team options.

Lucas Digne, who had a good game against Spurs, came on for Branthwaite and played at centre-back. But the Frenchman should play at left-back come Saturday, with captain Seamus Coleman expected to play at right-back.

Midfield

Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure had good debuts last weekend, and they should make the Everton lineup. Andre Gomes wasn’t as impressive as his midfield partners, but he should retain his place, despite Gylfi Sigurdsson’s impressive display against Salford City.

Tom Davies, who played the entire game against Salford, could be an option off the bench for the Toffees.

Attack

We should see an unchanged front three of James Rodriguez, Richarlison, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who were all impressive in the win against Spurs.

Bernard and youngster Anthony Gordon had good games against Salford City, and they will also be options off the bench for Ancelotti. The attacking trio showed plenty of guile and work-ethic against Tottenham, and the same will be expected of them they face West Brom.
