Leeds United Looking To Sign £30million Rated Spanish Ace: A Top Addition To The Squad?

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Valencia’s Rodrigo, in an attempt to add another goal-scorer to their squad.

The 29-year-old Brazilian-born Spanish international has been with Valencia since 2014, but could leave after six years at the club.

As per Daily Mail, Rodrigo is reportedly up for sale as Valencia are currently in a tough financial situation, and he could be bought for a fee of £30 million. The Spaniard had moved to Valencia from Portuguese side Benfica.

In 220 games for Valencia in all competitions, Rodrigo has scored 59 goals and made 41 assists. The Spaniard still has two years remaining on his contract at the Spanish club.

Rodrigo to Leeds United – A top addition to the squad?

Leeds United had a pretty good squad in the Championship, but they certainly need some additions to ensure they remain in the top-flight next season.

The Whites often dominated games, but struggled to convert the numerous chances they created. Patrick Bamford was an ever-present figure in the Leeds starting XI, but the fans were often frustrated by the profligacy of the former Chelsea forward.

The two strikers who were brought in on loan by Leeds last season – Eddie Nketiah and Jean-Kevin Augustin – will not return to the club, with the former a part of the Arsenal first-team now, while the latter played just thrice, and had a forgettable spell.

It’s quite clear that Leeds will have to bring in a good option upfront ahead of the 2020-21 Premier League season. Rodrigo could be a very good signing for Leeds as the Spaniard has vast experience of playing in La Liga as well as Champions League. He also had good international experience, having represented the Spanish national team 22 times.

He is a centre-forward who likes to drop deep and get involved in the build-up play, using his dribbling ability, clever passing, as well as his strength on the ball to good effect.

The Valencia striker has flair, good technique and the ability to take on defenders, and the Leeds fans will love to have some like him running at Premier League defences.

The left-footed attacker is also versatile, capable of playing as a striker, as a wide player, or a second striker. With Bielsa often moving his players around, Rodrigo’s versatility will be a boon for Leeds United, while his goal-scoring ability could help Leeds stay up in the league.
