Liverpool Linked With A Transfer For €60million Rated Italian Ace: How Will He Fit In?

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing AS Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo. The 20-year-old has attracted interest after impressing this season.

As per Tuttosport, the Reds are keen on signing the young attacker, and will hope to capitalise on Roma’s tough financial situation.

The report states that Roma want to sell a few players to balance their books, but Zaniolo will cost at least €60 million.

The Italian youngster has made 60 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals and making five assists. His current contract with the club expires only in 2024.

Zaniolo has been with the Italian side since 2018, having joined them from Inter Milan.

Nicolo Zaniolo to Liverpool – How will he fit in?

Zaniolo is an exciting prospect, and is one of the most promising young players in the Serie A at the moment. The 20-year-old attacker has burst onto the scene, and has put in some scintillating performances for Roma this season.

The Italian is an attacking player who primarily plays on the right side, and is also capable of playing as a No. 10.

The youngster is tall and quick, and uses his strength and pace to good effect from the wide areas. A strong dribbler, Zaniolo likes to cut in from wide areas using his strong left foot to create openings.

Zaniolo is unpredictable with his dribbling, while also being a good finisher in the final third. In the 2019-20 Serie A season, which was cut short abruptly for him due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Zaniolo scored four goals in 18 Serie A appearances.

The attacker averaged 2.4 dribbles per game, and used his pace and dribbling to good effect. He suffered an average of 2.3 fouls per game, which shows that opposition players usually find it hard to deal with his movement and trickery.

Zaniolo could be a very good signing for Liverpool, one who could grow from strength to strength under a manager like Jürgen Klopp, as well as the world-class players that the Reds currently have in their squad.

The Italian, though, will most likely play second fiddle role to Mohamed Salah, and will not be a regular starter immediately.

He could also feature as the No. 10 if Klopp decides to play a 4-2-3-1 system. Zaniolo would add energy, pace and unpredictability in the final third, and could be used as an impact substitute. Considering his age, he would also be a long-term addition to the club.
