Lallana In Midfield: 4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Tottenham Hotspur

Jose Mourinho’s biggest test yet, as a manager back in London, arrives today when league leaders Liverpool travel to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 28 points separate both sides as the Reds extended their unbeaten run in the league to over a year, in the game against the Blades in the last game week.

The former Manchester United manager will set up his team to try and stop Klopp from extending the lead at the top of the table and bounce back from the loss to Southampton in the previous game. Klopp rested most of his first XI for the FA Cup game Everton and has a fresh side to choose from for this game.

Team News

Klopp revealed that James Milner and Naby Keita are suffering from muscle injuries and will miss this game. So will Dejan Lovren and Fabinho, but the duo is expected to be back in training after this game.

Liverpool do have some good news as Joel Matip and Xherdan Shaqiri are back in training and could make the bench with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who was back in action in last week.

Defence

Adrian was exceptional in the Merseyside Derby but Alisson Becker remains a key figure in the backline for Liverpool and will look to extend his run of five consecutive clean sheets in the league.

Though Matip is back, Klopp will not want to tinker with the backline and is expected to stick with Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk in the Liverpool lineup.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will be up to their regular mischief but might have to deal with the likes of Heung Min-Son and Lucas Moura, who will look to use their pace on the wings.

Midfield

Jordan Henderson has been one of the most consistent players for Liverpool this season. He has stepped up in the absence of Fabinho, doing a great job in the no.6 role. He will keep his place in the side and could be partnered with Georginio Wijnaldum, to add some stability to the midfield.

Milner and Keita are absent while Oxlade-Chamberlain is just back from an injury. This should see Adam Lallana get another chance in the Liverpool lineup, after putting in an impressive display at Anfield against Everton.

Attack

Takumi Minamino did not fail to impress in that game but Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane should all be back in action tonight.

Mane was named the African Player of the Year earlier this week and will look to celebrate that by getting on the scoresheet which could spell trouble for the likes of Serge Aurier and Davinson Sanchez on Spurs’ right side.
