Barcelona are reportedly keen on bringing back Adama Traore to the Nou Camp from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, as per reports.
The 23-year-old came through the ranks at the Catalan club before moving to England in the summer of 2015.
As per The Sun, Barcelona, along with Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester City, are keen on signing the winger.
Traore is reportedly valued at £70 million by Wolves, having joined them for around £18 million in the 2018 summer transfer window.
The winger has had a fantastic season so far for Wolves, scoring 5 goals and managing 4 assists in all competitions for the Premier League side.
Traore played for Aston Villa and Middlesbrough before making the switch to Wolves. His current contract with Wolves expires only in 2023.
Adama Traore: Right option for Barcelona?
Adama Traore is finally delivering on the promise that he showed a few years ago and has been a key part of Wolves’ success so far in the season.
The quick, skilful, and powerful winger has tormented defences with his speed and unpredictability, and there seems to be some consistency in his game now.
The Spaniard, who came through the ranks at Barcelona, making two appearances for the first-team, could be a very good option for the Catalans. Lionel Messi turns 33 later this year and Barcelona need to start looking for a long-term replacement for their legendary attacker.
While Traore is nowhere as good as Messi was at his age, he could be a good player in the Barcelona squad and has the potential to be a very good Barcelona player. He has the pace and technique to get into this Barcelona lineup, while he also knows the ins and outs of the club having played there since the age of eight.
But, the big question is if he can be consistently good, which is what separates the good from the best. At 23 years of age, Traore has time to improve further and become worthy of a starring role in the Barcelona starting lineup.
The Barcelona squad needs quite a few more exciting, talented young players, and Traore is a player that fits the bill.
It would be a homecoming that could be successful if he puts his head down and works hard on the flaws that exist in his game.
