Top 5 Players from Premier League Gameweek 16 Ft. Tottenham And Everton Stars | Opinion

Manchester United‘s win against Manchester City may have stolen the headlines from the action in the Premier League this past weekend, but there were a number of other impressive performances from players across the country.

Liverpool and Spurs ran out comfortable winners in the gameweek, while Chelsea were beaten at Goodison Park.

Leicester City continued their charge at the top of the table with a win at Villa Park while the Blades also registered three points on the road, at Carrow Road.

But who were the best individual performers of the weekend? Here are the five best players from Gameweek 16 of the Premier League this season:

Top 5 players from gameweek 16

#1 Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)

Taking his goal tally to 16, the former English international has been the most consistent player so far this season. He opened the scoring for The Foxes at Villa Park long before scoring their fourth and his presence in the final third was a huge nuisance to the home side.

Vardy completed a couple of dribbles, scored two goals from four shots on target and was probably the best player at the weekend.

#2 Naby Keita (Liverpool)

In what was arguably his best performance in a Liverpool shirt, Naby Keita was all over the Bournemouth midfield, constantly winning the ball back and setting his team up on the attack.

Keita set-up Salah’s goal after scoring his first of the season, and his progressive play from the midfield was crucial to Liverpool’s comfortable win at Dean Court.

#3 Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Finding his goal-scoring form under new manager Jose Mourinho, Harry Kane was amongst the goals yet again this weekend.

A couple of stunning goals, to add to a delightful ball for Moussa Sissoko’s goal handed Spurs three points against The Clarets at home.

Kane also won six aerial duels and never allowed the visitors to settle in at the back. His performance surely pushes Vardy for the title of ‘Player of the Week’

#4 Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton)

The youngster was the best player on the pitch when Chelsea travelled to Goodison Park on Saturday. Took his chances really well, scoring a brace but more crucially, he won 11 aerial duels, helping Everton stay high up the field.

His link-up with Richarlison gives Everton hope of breaking into the top half of the table before the turn of the year.

#5 Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Manchester United)

Though he did not affect the scoreline, Wan-Bissaka was immense against cross-town rivals Manchester City in the derby. He lost a duel with Raheem Sterling early in the game, but that was the only time the English winger managed to get the better of the United defender.

Wan-Bissaka made sure that the right side of United’s defence stood strong all game and frustrated City’s major outlet, which seriously curtailed the visitors’ chances of taking anything from this game.
