Chelsea got back to winning ways against Aston Villa after losing their previous two games in the Premier League against Manchester City and West Ham United. The Blues will face off against manager-less Everton on Saturday at Goodison Park in their next game.
Frank Lampard’s side are fourth in the league, three points behind Manchester City in third, and a further six points behind Leicester City in second. In the last encounter between Chelsea and Everton at Goodison Park, the hosts won 2-0.
But, this time around, the London side are the favourites as they are in good form while the Toffees are in the relegation zone.
Chelsea Team News
Antonio Rudiger is back in training with the first team, but this game may come too soon for him, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek is still on the sidelines.
Ross Barkley is fit but had an illness which caused him to miss the last game. He could maybe return to the bench for Saturday’s fixture, if not the Chelsea lineup.
Tammy Abraham hobbled up in the game against Aston Villa, but he should be fit for this weekend.
Let’s take a look at the possible Chelsea lineup for the game against Everton:
Predicted Chelsea Lineup vs Everton
Goalkeeper
Kepa will start in goal for the Blues against Everton.
Defence
Lampard has rotated the central defenders, with Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma starting last time around. Zouma could start with Fikayo Tomori at the back for this weekend’s game.
Reece James has made a good impression over the last few weeks and he should start at right-back, with captain César Azpilicueta continuing at left-back.
Midfield
Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kanté started in the middle of the park for the Blues against Villa, but we could see Jorginho return for this game, replacing Kovacic in the Chelsea lineup.
Mason Mount got back on the scoresheet in the mid-week fixture, and he could retain his place in the side.
Attack
Tammy Abraham scored his 11th league goal of the season against Villa. He should lead the line for the Blues with Willian starting from the right and Christian Pulisic playing as the left-sided attacker.
Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi are other options for Lampard for the wide positions.
