Chelsea succumbed to their fourth loss in the Premier League last weekend, when they lost to West Ham United at home.

The Blues fell to an Aaron Cresswell goal at the start of the second half and couldn’t convert their chances, despite seeing a lot of the ball.

Frank Lampard’s side face Aston Villa on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge, who are coming off of a strong 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Chelsea have not yet revealed if Tammy Abraham will be fit enough to play against Aston Villa after suffering an injury in the Champions League last week, and he will face a late fitness test.

Antonio Rüdiger, Ross Barkley, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will miss the game due to injury.

Goalkeeper

Kepa had a decent game last time around against West Ham and he should continue in goal for the Blues.

Defence

Kurt Zouma had an average game last Saturday, and he could be replaced by Andreas Christensen in the Chelsea lineup, while Fikayo Tomori could retain his place in the Chelsea team.

César Azpilicueta was an unused substitute over the weekend, but he could return at left-back, while Reece James – who was superb against the Hammers – will retain his right-back spot in the Blues starting XI.

Midfield

Mason Mount was very poor for Chelsea in the No. 10 role against West Ham United and he could be replaced in the team, with Lampard most likely to go with a three-man midfield.

Jorginho, and Mateo Kovacic — who started in midfield for the Blues against West Ham — could start once again, and they could be joined by N’Golo Kante in midfield, who was a second-half substitute over the weekend.

Attack

Willian, too, was a second-half substitute for the Blues, replacing Pedro in the Chelsea team. The experienced Brazilian could start on the right, while Christian Pulisic could retain his spot on the left.

The American was perhaps Chelsea’s most potent threat going forward against West Ham, and he will hope to get a goal or assist on Wednesday.

Tammy Abraham could start for the Blues if he is fit, but if he isn’t, Michy Batshuayi could replace the experienced Olivier Giroud as Chelsea’s main striker.
