Arsenal Player Ratings From Their Draw Against Everton

Freddie Ljungberg’s last game in charge of Arsenal was far from a fairytale as the Gunners were held to a goalless stalemate at the Goodison Park earlier today in their latest Premier League outing.

Ljungberg fielded a starting XI with a number of young guns, particularly in attack. However, the north London outfit looked under pressure and will be thankful that the Toffees couldn’t exploit their weaknesses adequately.

Here are our Arsenal player ratings from what transpired earlier today.

Bernd Leno 6/10

After quite a while, Leno had an easy day on the pitch as he didn’t have to make a single save during the fixture.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles 7/10

The young gun was solid defensively and maintained a decent balance between his offensive and defensive duties, for which he deserves a lot of credit.

Calum Chambers 8/10

Positioned in the heart of Arsenal’s backline, Chambers imposed himself and was impeccable in the air. He won 7 aerial duels and made 3 tackles, dealing with the threats meticulously.

David Luiz 7/10

Intriguingly, Luiz thrived with a lot of confidence and despite the fact that there were a few clumsy moments from him, he was decent enough at the back.

Bukayo Saka 7/10

Despite playing in an unfamiliar position, the Arsenal prodigy fared well at the left-back slot as he made 4 tackles and didn’t allow Richarlison to dominate him.

Lucas Torreira 7/10

The Uruguayan international left no stone unturned to cushion the backline of his side. Further, he showcased a lot of energy and distributed the ball with immense precision.

Granit Xhaka 7/10

Operating with a lot of tidiness in the middle of the park, Xhaka didn’t allow the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fabian Delph to go past him easily. Moreover, he refrained from committing needless fouls or errors.

Reiss Nelson 6/10

The winger worked hard and got forward occasionally but left a lot to be desired in terms of his output as he found it troublesome to outfox Lucas Digne.

Emile Smith Rowe 5/10

There was nothing spectacular today about the 19-year-old who could yield dividends in the offensive region. His first touches were heavy and he lacked directness in his approach.

Gabriel Martinelli 7/10

Martinelli supported Saka remarkably as he tracked back time and again to defend and ended up making 3 tackles. However, he flattered to deceive in terms of his attacking prowess.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 5/10

The Gabon international hardly saw the ball and wasn’t supported enough by his teammates. His presence was hardly felt and was rightfully taken off in the second half.

Substitutions

Joe Willock 6/10

Willock brought a substantial amount of freshness into his side and made a few decent runs, which was encouraging to see.
