Barcelona have a crucial game in the Champions League coming up when they host Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
The Catalans are top of Group F, one point ahead of their opponents Borussia Dortmund, while Inter Milan are four points behind the Blaugrana.
Ernesto Valverde’s side will need to get all three points as they have a tough tie against Inter Milan in Italy in their final match of the group stage.
Barca narrowly edged past Leganes in the league on Saturday, thanks to a 79th-minute winner by Luis Suarez.
Barcelona Team News
Gerard Pique will miss this game due to a one-match suspension, while full-backs Nelson Semedo and Jordi Alba will not take part due to injury.
Clément Lenglet could return to the Barcelona lineup after missing out on the league game due to an injury. Sergi Roberto could also return to the lineup after missing the league game against Leganes due to suspension.
Let’s take a look at the possible side that manager Ernesto Valverde could put out for Wednesday’s game:
Predicted Barcelona Lineup vs Leganes
Goalkeeper
German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen will play in between the sticks for Barcelona against Dortmund.
Defence
With Pique missing, Valverde will have to play Samuel Umtiti and Clément Lenglet at the back, which is a risky move as both French defenders have had injuries recently, especially the former who hasn’t played much football.
Alba’s absence means that Junior Firpo will start at left-back, while Sergi Roberto will play at right-back, replacing Moussa Wagué in the Barcelona lineup.
Midfield
Valverde played a two-man midfield for the game against Leganes over the weekend, with Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong playing in midfield. We could see him revert to a three-man midfield to dominate Dortmund in the middle of the park.
Busquets and de Jong could retain their places in the Barcelona lineup, with Arturo Vidal coming into midfield, to add energy to the middle of the park.
Attack
Valverde played a four-man attack in the league last time around, but we will see one of the four attackers drop to the bench.
Lionel Messi could go back to his position on the right, having played behind the strikers in the game against Leganes.
Antoine Griezmann was poor and he could drop to the bench with Ousmane Dembélé playing from the left against his former side. Luis Suarez, who scored over the weekend, will play upfront.
