Chelsea host a rejuvenated Manchester United side on Wednesday in the League Cup, and the home side will hope to seek some retribution for their 0-4 loss to the Red Devils earlier in the league. The Blues have been in very good form, winning their last seven games in all competitions, with their last defeat coming against Liverpool in September.
Frank Lampard has tough decisions to make ahead of the game as he has several players who are in form. The Blues waltzed past Grimsby Town in the previous round of the Carabao Cup, winning 7-1 at home.
Let’s take a look at the possible Chelsea lineup that Lampard may play for the game against Manchester United.

Goalkeeper
Experienced goalkeeper Willy Caballero started for Chelsea in the last round of the League Cup and he should return to the side once again, replacing Kepa.
Defence
Antonio Rudiger has returned to training, but this game will come too soon for him to start. Andreas Christensen is also likely to miss the game through injury. This means that Marc Guehi could get a start, alongside Kurt Zouma, while Fikayo Tomori is an option.
Reece James should get a start at right-back in the Chelsea lineup, while Emerson could also return, starting at left-back after returning to training.
Midfield
Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho played the full game against Burnley over the weekend, and one of the two may be given a rest. Jorginho could start with Ross Barkley – who has missed two games due to injury – possibly returning to play alongside him. Billy Gilmour started in the previous League Cup game, but he may be an option off the bench for Lampard this time around.
Pedro could return to the side, playing behind the striker and rotating with his fellow attackers.
Attack
Olivier Giroud was a second-half substitute against Burnley, and he could be involved in the game against Manchester United. But, Michy Batshuayi should get the nod ahead of the experienced Frenchman, having scored twice last time in the League Cup.
Callum Hudson-Odoi could also get a start on the left for Chelsea, while Christian Pulisic – who had a tremendous game last time around – starting on the right for Chelsea.
