Liverpool will travel to Manchester on Sunday and will face a depleted, disorganised, and disappointing Manchester United side that have lost three and drawn three of their opening eight games.
The Reds are at the top of the Premier League table and have taken all 24 points on offer this season, and are the only team that is still undefeated in the Premier League this season.
Jurgen Klopp has a full-strength squad to choose from, in contrast to the injury worries that his counterpart Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces.
Let’s take a look at the possible team that Klopp could put out for Sunday:
Liverpool Team News
Joel Matip and Alisson Becker are back, and should feature against the Red Devils.
Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Manchester United
Goalkeeper
Adrian did a commendable job in goal for Liverpool, but with Alisson back, he should return to the Liverpool Lineup.
Defence
Matip revealed that he would be fit for the game, during the week. He will start alongside Virgil van Dijk at the back for Liverpool against Manchester United.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will continue in the right-back position for the league leaders, while Andrew Robertson will start at left-back on Sunday. The two full-backs will be key come Sunday as Manchester United could play a low block and defend for their lives.
Midfield
Klopp has several options in central midfield, with the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keïta, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner.
The German manager will most likely stick to the midfield trio of Henderson, Fabinho, and Wijnaldum for the game against Manchester United.
Milner had started the game against Leicester City ahead of the international break, but captain Jordan Henderson should replace him for Sunday’s game.
Attack
Another injury worry for Liverpool ahead of the huge clash against Manchester United is Mohamed Salah, who had a knock on his ankle. While Klopp did not reveal much about Salah’s availability for the Manchester United game, he did sound optimistic about the chances of his injured players returning for the clash.
Salah should start in attack, playing alongside Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in Liverpool’s attack on Sunday. The trio have scored 12 goals between themselves in this year’s Premier League.
