West Ham United will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome Sheffield United to the London Stadium on Saturday.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have won just one of their last five league games and have suffered back to back losses against Everton and Crystal Palace.
Sheffield United, on the other hand, beat Arsenal in their last league game and find themselves in the top half of the Premier League table, level on points with their weekend’s opponents.
The Blades are unbeaten away from home this season while West Ham have beaten them just once in the last seven home games.
Pellegrini needs his players to be at the top of their game to take something from this clash.
West Ham United Team News
In early team news, Lukasz Fabianski, Michail Antonio and Xande Silva remain long term absentees at the club. Winston Reid is back in training but lacks match fitness and might even struggle to make the bench this weekend.
Predicted West Ham United Lineup
Defence:
Roberto Jimenez has not been provided with enough protection at the back. He remains the best option under the bar for West Ham and should start.
Pellegrini seems to prefer Arthur Masuaku to Aaron Cresswell at left-back while Ryan Fredericks is a regular at right-back.
Issa Diop and Angelo Ogbonna have also cemented their place in the first team. But the duo need to step up their game and keep the likes of Lys Mousset and David McGoldrick away from testing Roberto on goal.
Midfield:
Declan Rice has probably been the most consistent player for the Hammers so far this season. He will start in the deepest of the midfield roles, hoping to dictate the tempo of the game from deep inside his half.
Mark Noble, who has been used in a slightly advanced role, will add numbers to the midfield while Manuel Lanzini will add some creativity in the middle of the park for the hosts.
Felipe Anderson is yet to find consistent form this season. Against a solid Sheffield backline, he may have yet another tough game awaiting him this weekend.
The Brazilian should start on the left flank while Andriy Yarmolenko could replace Pablo Fornals, who put in a drab performance against Everton last weekend.
Attack:
Sebastien Haller has often cut an isolated figure in attack for West Ham. He will look to play on the shoulder of John Egan, who has been effective at the back for the visitors.
