Leeds United secured a very good win on Tuesday, when they narrowly got past Championship league leaders West Bromwich Albion, thanks to a goal from Ezgjan Alioski. The win took the Whites to second in the table, one point behind leaders Swansea City.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men take on Millwall on Saturday, who are currently 18th in the Championship with 11 points, and haven’t won since August 17th.
Leeds have a great chance of possibly going top of the table once again, but have injury concerns to key players.
Leeds United Team News
Jamie Shackleton is picked up an injury against West Brom, and he will be out for four weeks.
The big loss through injury for Leeds is that of centre back Liam Cooper, who was substituted in the game against West Brom. The defender will be out for at least six weeks, and his absence from the Leeds United lineup will be felt.
Let’s take a look at the possible Leeds United lineup against Millwall:
Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Millwall
Goalkeeper
Kiko Casilla has started all 10 of Leeds’ Championship games this season and he will continue to keep his place in the Leeds United lineup.
Defence
Cooper will be replaced by Gaetano Berardi in the Leeds starting XI, alongside Ben White. Ezgjan Alioski scored Leeds’ winner against West Brom and he will start at left-back ahead of Barry Douglas.
At right-back, we could perhaps see Luke Ayling start at right-back in place of Stuart Dallas. Ayling returned to the team against West Brom, coming on for Tyler Roberts in the 75th minute.
Midfield
Adam Forshaw will miss another game and will not be involved in Leeds United lineup against Millwall. We could see Dallas play in central midfield, like he did in the closing moments of the game against West Brom.
Tyler Roberts is another option in midfield. He was substituted off after being brought on by Bielsa in the game against West Brom, with Luke Ayling replacing him and Stuart Dallas moving to midfield.
Mateusz Klich and Kalvin Phillips will complete the three-man midfield.
Attack
Pablo Hernandez is another player who will miss the game against Millwall due to injury, which means that Helder Costa will play on the right. Jack Harrison will continue on the left for Leeds.
Patrick Bamford had a good game against West Brom, and he will likely start up top.
