The winger hasn’t made a very big impression in the senior side yet and will probably take a while to settle into the team.

Solskjaer should allow Chong to leave on loan as the youngster may find opportunities hard to come by this season.

With United looking to invest in new players in January, Chong’s chances in the side, even in Europa League and cup matches may be limited. The return of the likes of Anthony Martial to the United squad will also push Chong further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
