With just three wins in 11 games across all competitions this season, Tottenham Hotspur are in a spot of bother at the moment. There are a lot of issues in the squad which need to be resolved but the last few games have proven that the lack of a quality right-back will haunt them for the rest of the season.
Mauricio Pochettino decided to let Kieran Trippier leave in the summer but has not been able to rely on Serge Aurier or Kyle Walker-Peters consistently so far this season. So he might be forced to dip into the transfer market in January to try and solve this problem on the right side of his defence.
Here are three such right-backs Tottenham should target in the winter transfer window-
Mitchell Weiser (Bayer Leverkusen)
One of the highly-rated full-backs in the Bundesliga, Weiser has not been the first choice for Peter Bosz at Bay Arena this season. The 25-year-old made 22 league starts last season, registering a goal and three assists but is now behind Lars Bender in the first team.
He is an excellent defender, who rarely loses the ball. He puts in crucial tackles, hardly shows any sign of nerves and has the physical attributes to be successful in the Premier League. He does have more than three years left on his contract but the promise of regular playing time might be enough for Pochettino to lure him to London this January.
Sime Vrsaljko (Atletico Madrid)
Croatian international Vrsaljko is easily one of the most experienced right-backs in Europe at the moment. He spent the last season on loan with Inter Milan but picked up a season-ending injury at the start of the year. He is back with Atletico Madrid now and is expected to be back in training at the end of this month.
The 27-year-old, known for his robust defending, is not the greatest full-back in attack but he will certainly strengthen the Tottenham backline if Pochettino can lure him to England. The Spanish giants now have Kieran Trippier and Santiago Arias for the right-back roles so Vrsaljko, who has just over a couple of years left on his current deal with the club, could be a decent option for the English outfit in January.

Youcef Atal (OGC Nice)
A reported transfer target for Spurs already for January, Atal is probably the most attractive option on this list for the North London club. The 23-year-old was a crucial part of the Algerian squad that won the AFCON recently. He has been used as a winger by Patrick Vieira at Allianz Riviera this season, where he has registered a goal in six league starts.
However, last season and for his national side, he was effective as a right-back and could be a decent option for Spurs. He is attacking minded but is disciplined at the back and could be a versatile option in the squad that can help Pochettino in more ways than one.
