Dele Alli To Start: 4-2-2-2 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup vs Bayern Munich

Tottenham Hotspur managed to take just one point from their trip to Piraeus on Matchday 1 of the Champions League. They will now face an even tougher task tomorrow when they welcome Bayern Munich to London.

Spurs were knocked out of the League Cup and won just two games in all competitions in September, including the win over Southampton last weekend.

Niko Kovac’s side find themselves at the top of the Bundesliga table, six games into the season, having dropped just four points. They beat Red Star Belgrade in the first match of this competition and will believe that they can take all three points from this game.

But Spurs need to take something from this game if they are to stand a chance of topping their group table. The two sides met in pre-season in the Audi Cup, where Spurs won on penalties but that might have no real bearing on the way the teams will set up for this clash.

Tottenham Hotspur Team News

In early team news, last year’s finalists are still without two of their summer signings in Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon, both of who are nursing injuries.

Serge Aurier’s red card against Southampton has no bearing in this competition while Heung Min-Son, who limped off against the Saints, is also expected to be fit for this game.

PREDICTED TOTTENHAM LINEUP vs BAYERN MUNICH (4-2-2-2)

Defence

Hugo Lloris had a night to forget against Southampton but that did not affect the result of the game. He will once again be tested by the German giants and needs to put in a far better performance to bolster his side’s chances in the Champions League this season.

Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen is one of the most experienced centre-back pairing in Europe at the moment. They are expected to keep their place in the side but will have their task cut out against an in-form Robert Lewandowski, who will certainly be the danger man for the hosts.

Danny Rose has been decent at left-back and will look to add some dynamism to the Spurs backline. Aurier was reckless against Southampton but his ability to have an impact at both ends of the field might see him retain his place at right-back in the Tottenham lineup.

Midfield

Harry Winks has been a mainstay in the midfield for Spurs. He will have to keep a close eye on the likes of Philippe Coutinho and keep them quiet to keep the Spurs backline from being overexposed.

Tanguy Ndombele scored his side’s first goal against Southampton and should also retain his place in the Tottenham lineup for this clash.

Attack

Christian Eriksen has been inconsistent this season but is the most creative player in the side for Pochettino. He will start in an advanced midfield role and needs to be at his best for Spurs to take anything from this game.

Dele Alli is yet to find form this season but is an impact player in tough games. He was an unused substitute in the league game and should be back in action for this clash. He could start alongside Eriksen in a creative role.

Lucas Moura scored in the first match of this competition against Olympiakos and could be the danger man for Bayern. He will play alongside Harry Kane, who will be up against Niklas Sule and Jerome Boateng in this game.
