Greenwood To Start, Pogba A Doubt | 4-2-3-1 Predicted Manchester United Lineup vs Arsenal

Manchester United welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford on Monday night, hoping to get a better result and performance than they managed West Ham United last weekend.

The Red Devils huffed and puffed their way to a win against Rochdale in the League Cup, and have a difficult game against the Gunners come Monday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has several injury worries ahead of the big clash, which will see many of his first-choice players miss out.

Manchester United Team News

Solskjaer has revealed that both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial will miss the game against Arsenal, while Paul Pogba is a doubt. Phil Jones has been ruled out, while Luke Shaw could return.

Let’s take a look at the possible Manchester United lineup for the game against Arsenal:

Predicted Manchester United Lineup vs Arsenal

Goalkeeper

David de Gea was given a breather when the side took on Rochdale, with Sergio Romero playing between the sticks for United. De Gea will return to the Manchester United lineup side for Monday’s game.

Defence

Both Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof did not play in the mid-week game, with Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe starting the game at the back. Maguire and Lindelof will return to the Manchester United lineup for the game against Arsenal, and they will be up against an in-form Gunners attack.

Marcos Rojo started at left-back against Rochdale before he was moved into the heart of the defence after Phil Jones’ injury. He will make way for Ashley Young, who may have a difficult game against the agile Nicolas Pepe.

At right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will retain his place, despite playing the full 90 minutes against Rochdale.

Midfield

Paul Pogba made his return from injury against Rochdale and played the entire game, but he is a doubt for the game against Arsenal, with Solskjaer revealing that the Frenchman suffered a knock to his ankle.

If Pogba is out, Fred may start instead of Nemanja Matic in midfield, while Scott McTominay will retain his place in the centre of the park.

Juan Mata could feature in the No. 10 role in the Manchester United lineup.

Attack

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have been ruled out for Monday night’s game. This means that Mason Greenwood, who started and scored against Rochdale, will play as the striker.

Daniel James will start on the right for Manchester United, while we could see Jesse Lingard play on the right side instead of Andreas Pereira.
