Getafe host Catalan giants Barcelona on Saturday, and the visitors will hope to bridge the gap between them and league leaders Real Madrid, who are four points ahead of them.

Barcelona won their last game 2-1 against Villarreal, but were dealt a big blow as star man Lionel Messi was once again injured.

In the last meeting between these two sides, Barcelona won the game 2-0.

MATCH PREVIEW

Getafe vs Barcelona: Team News

Getafe: Left-back Vitorino Antunes and left-winger Amath Ndiaye will miss the game against Barcelona. Backup goalkeeper Filip Manojlovic has also been ruled out of the game due to a long-term injury. Marc Cucurella, who is on loan from Barca, could play against his parent club on Saturday.

Barcelona: The big story ahead of the match against Getafe is the absence of Lionel Messi, who was injured in the game against Villarreal and will miss the trip to Getafe. Jordi Alba is also expected to miss the game, as will central defender Samuel Umtiti.

Getafe vs Barcelona: Predicted Lineups

Getafe: David Soria;  Damián Suárez, Djené, Leandro Cabrera, Allan Nyom; Jason, Mauro Arambarri, Nemanja Maksimovic, Marc Cucurella; Ángel Rodríguez, Jaime Mata

Barcelona: Marc-André ter Stegen; Nélson Semedo, Clément Lenglet, Gerard Piqué, Júnior Firpo; Frenkie de Jong, Arthur, Sergio Busquets; Ousmane Dembélé, Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suárez

Getafe vs Barcelona: Key Men

Getafe: Striker Jaime Mata has gotten off to a decent start in La Liga this season, scoring thrice in three games as well as registering an assist. He will be a key player for the home side on Saturday. Right-winger Jason has also impressed for Getafe this season, and he could trouble Barcelona new boy Junior Firpo, who will start at left-back for the Catalan giants.

Barcelona: The absence of Lionel Messi will mean that the onus will lay upon Antoine Greizmann, who has scored 3 goals and registered 2 assists so far. Midfielder Arthur has also been in good form and scored in the mid-week win against Villarreal. His passing and goalscoring from midfield will be key for Barcelona.

Getafe vs Barcelona: Predicted Result

Getafe 1 – 2 Barcelona

The Catalans could struggle without Messi, but they may have enough firepower to see off Getafe on Saturday.
