Liverpool are reportedly interested in highly-rated winger Samuel Chukwueze, who currently plays for Spanish club Villarreal.
The 20-year-old winger came through the Spanish club’s academy, and made his debut last season.
According to Goal, the young Nigerian is on Liverpool’s radar, while clubs like Arsenal, PSG, Salzburg, Sporting and Porto were also keen on signing him in the past.
Liverpool are reportedly scouting the young winger, and could possibly make a move for him soon.
Chukwueze has four years remaining on his contract at Villarreal, having signed a five-year deal last year.
In his first season with the club, the 20-year-old scored 9 goals and made 3 assists, while he has already got off the mark this season for the Yellow Submarine.
He also made his debut for the Nigerian national team last year and has made a total of 9 appearances so far, scoring one goal.
What will Chukwueze add to the Liverpool team?
Chukwueze’s idol is Dutch legend Arjen Robben, and his style of play is similar to the former Bayern Munich winger as he likes to cut in from the right, and shoot with his left foot, or dribble and pick out the reverse pass.
The 20-year-old is quick on the break, and can move swiftly from one end of the pitch to the other, while he can also bamboozle defenders with his quick dribbling. Last season, he averaged two successful dribbles a game and 2.2 shots per game in the Spanish Primera Liga.
Chukwueze is not a player who only has pace and dribbling ability, but can also put crosses and passes into the box, as well as score. He is much more than just a flashy player with some tricks and flicks, as he has a good head on his shoulders.
The Nigerian could be a useful deputy for Mohamed Salah on the right-hand side, and could develop into a very good player in the near future, even a possible replacement for Salah if the Egyptian decides to leave the club in the future.
At 20 years of age, Chukwueze has the time and ability to become a world-class player, and under Klopp, that is a possibility.
