Aston Villa will look to bounce back from their defeat against Crystal Palace in the Premier League game before the international break when they face West Ham United on Monday.
The Villans are third from bottom after registering just one win in their four games, while their opponents are seventh with two wins, a draw, and a loss.
Despite losing three games, Villa have put on some good performances and they will hope to get a win when they face the Hammers at home.
The last time these two sides met at Villa Park was in 2015, when the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Let’s take a look at the possible lineup that Dean Smith may put out against West Ham:
Predicted Aston Villa Lineup vs West Ham United
Goalkeeper
Tom Heaton will continue in goal for the side against West Ham on Monday, and it looks like he will be the regular custodian in the Aston Villa lineup.
Defence
We could see an unchanged defence for Villa from their last game against Crystal Palace. Tyrone Mings and Björn Engels, who have been impressive as a central defensive pairing, will start once again at the back.
They will be joined by Neil Taylor, at left-back, and Frederic Guilbert, at right-back. Matt Targett has yet to recover from his injury, but he could make the bench if not the main Aston Villa lineup.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz will once again start at the base of midfield, although Smith could also give an opportunity to Conor Hourihane, who was a second-half substitute against Crystal Palace.
Jack Grealish and John McGinn, will start ahead of Luiz as the two players who will provide creativity and help connect midfield with attack in the game.
McGinn, especially, has been very good this season, and we could see him pull the strings in midfield once again against West Ham.
Attack
There will be one change in the Aston Villa attack as Trezeguet is suspended after being sent off last time around against Palace.
Anwar El Ghazi will most likely replace Trezeguet in the starting XI, while Jota will start on the other side, on the right.
Wesley, who has scored one goal so far since signing for the Lions in the summer, will be the lone striker in the Aston Villa lineup.
