A Change At The Back | 4-2-3-1 Predicted West Ham United Lineup vs Man United

After a hard-fought draw against Aston Villa, West Ham United are back in action this weekend, when they welcome Manchester United to London Stadium.

Both teams have made identical starts to their league campaigns and will believe that they can take a point or more from this game.

Marcus Rashford’s penalty helped Manchester United to just their second win of the Premier League season last weekend, when they beat Leicester City at Old Trafford. But Manuel Pellegrini has a quality side at his disposal and will want to keep the Red Devils from finding any momentum in the league.

They have beaten United in two of the last four clashes between the two sides, and here is the predicted lineup Pellegrini might field for this tie:

West Ham United Team News

The Hammers have no new injury issues to worry about ahead of this tie. Winston Reid and Michail Antonio are still nursing long term injuries while Arthur Masuaku is suspended after his red card at Villa Park.

Predicted West Ham United Lineup (4-2-3-1)

Defence

Lukasz Fabianski put in a superb shift to earn his side a point against Villa. He will keep his place under the bar for this weekend.

With Masuaku suspended, Aaron Cresswell might be back in the left-back role while Ryan Fredericks, who also worked hard in the last game, will retain his place at right-back.

Pellegrini seems to trust the pairing of Angelo Ogbonna and Issa Diop at the back. They not do too much wrong against Dean Smith’s side but the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial might pose a different threat to this backline.

Midfield

Declan Rice was one of the best players on the field in that game at Villa Park and will have to be at his best to keep the likes of Paul Pogba quiet in this game. He will play in the defensive midfield role while Mark Noble will act as the box-to-box midfielder for West Ham in this game.

Manuel Lanzini needs to find some consistency and will start in a slightly advanced role through the middle. Felipe Anderson is yet to find goal scoring form but is the best winger at the club. He will look to test Aaron Wan-Bissaka and this duel could be one to look out for in this game.

Andriy Yarmolenko failed to make an impact against Aston Villa but his creativity will be needed for West Ham, who could be pegged back for most of the game.

Attack

Sebastien Haller should have done a lot more for West Ham last weekend. But he is still their most effective striker and will keep his place in the West Ham United lineup.

Here is how they might lineup:

This includes nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, viagra, as the magazine put it, given that Pfizer scientists discovered the drug.
