Sheffield United will host Leicester City at the Bramall Lane on Saturday in Matchweek 3 of the 2019-20 Premier League campaign.
The Blades have impressed so far, having collected four points from their first two league outings, while Brendan Rodgers’ side have garnered two points.
Although Leicester City will enter the upcoming clash as the favourites, Sheffield United are not short of confidence and here are five players to look out for during the game.
Jamie Vardy
Jamie Vardy is still one of the most lethal strikers in the Premier League. His link-up play and knack to create chances were evident against Chelsea on Sunday.
Although the Englishman was not afforded with too many opportunities in the final third, his work-rate and movement off the ball resulted in a number of chances for the likes of Maddison and Perez.
It is to be seen how he fares against a well-settled backline comprising of Chris Basham, John Egan and Jack O’Connell, who have performed well so far but the Premier League winner will back himself to find the net and open his account for the season.
George Baldock
In Chris Wilder’s 3-5-2 system, George Baldock plays an instrumental role offensively as the wing-back gives his side a dangerous outlet on the flanks.
Baldock constantly gallops forward to whip in fantastic crosses, presses his opposition relentlessly and also caters to his defensive duties meticulously.
The 23-year-old has pace to burn and showcases immense work ethic, and it goes without saying that he will be up and ready to torment Leicester City’s backline this weekend.
James Maddison
James Maddison produced a swashbuckling performance in the second half during Leicester City’s 1-1 draw with Frank Lampard’s troops last weekend.
The attacking midfielder pulled the strings in the middle for Rodgers’ side and assisted the equaliser after he carved a pinpoint corner for Wilfred Ndidi to capitalise on.
Maddison’s maturity belies his age and there is no denying that he has the calibre of unlocking even the most resolute defences with his vision and creativity.
Callum Robinson
During the second half of Sheffield United’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend, Callum Robinson was forced off the pitch after his thigh muscles tightened up.
However, the forward has declared that he will be available for the upcoming game, which is positive news for the Blades owing to the attacking prowess he brings.
His pace and ability to move across the attacking line with relative ease have enabled him to get into Wilder’s starting lineup and he will look to make an impact against the Foxes.
Youri Tielemans
Signed from Monaco during the summer transfer window for a fee believed to be around £40million, Leicester City have a lot of expectations from Youri Tielemans.
Tielemans could be his side’s most influential player in the central midfield this weekend if he manages to unleash his creative acumen and at the same time press the Sheffield United midfield.
However, the Belgian has been criticised for his decision making at times and needs to get sharper if he is to live up to the expectations.
