Perez & Vardy Upfront: 4-3-1-2 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Wolves

After an impressive Premier League campaign last season that saw them finish in the top half of the table, Leicester City are back in action this weekend, as they kick off their new league campaign.

They welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to the King Power in their first game of the new season as Brendan Rodgers looks to make an early statement with the Foxes. Leicester were unbeaten in six of their pre-season games but face a squad that is among the most exciting in the league outside the top-6.

Wolves had a similar pre-season, where they even beat Manchester City to the Premier League Asia trophy and Nuno Espirito Santo will believe that his side can start the new campaign with a win this weekend.

Team News

Polish winger Bartosz Kapustka picked up a knock recently and is ruled out for this clash against Wolves. But the former Liverpool manager has every other player in his squad fit and ready for this weekend.

PREDICTED LEICESTER CITY LINEUP vs WOLVES (4-3-1-2)

Defence:

Kasper Schmeichel remains the undisputed no.1 for Rodgers this season and should keep his place under the bar for this game. Leicester lost Harry Maguire in the summer, but they still have a lot of experience at the back with Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan.

Evans is expected to start this game alongside Caglar Soyuncu, the young Turkish defender, who was impressive in the chances he got late last season and in the pre-season. The duo will have to keep a close eye on the likes of Jonny and more importantly Raul Jimenez if they are to keep Wolves quiet in this game.

Ricardo Pereira has fast turned into one of the most consistent right-backs in the league. He will retain his place in the first team while Ben Chilwell will hope to show some form in the left-back role.

Midfield

Rodgers seems to prefer Hamza Choudhury over Wilfried Ndidi, who was back from international duty late in pre-season. Choudhury should play in the no.6 role while Youri Tielemans will add some creativity to the midfield on the left side.

Marc Albrighton is one of the most consistent players for the Foxes and deserves to keep his place to the right of Choudhury in this game.

Attack

Jamie Vardy is one of the first names on the team sheet for Leicester. He will look to get the better of the likes of Connor Coady and Willy Boly in this tie. New signing Ayoze Perez will act as a supporting cast and could be the danger man for Wolves in this game.

James Maddison was the most creative player for Leicester last season and he will start in the no.10 role, looking to put pressure on a well-drilled Wolves midfield.
