Manchester City bagged all three points yesterday from their trip to the Vitality Stadium as they secured a 3-1 win over Bournemouth.
A goal each by Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling gave the visitors a two-goal cushion, which was cut in half by a Harry Wilson wonder-strike just before half-time.
However, Aguero’s strike in the early phases of the second half took the game away from Eddie Howe’s side whose winless run against the Sky Blues continues.
MANCHESTER CITY PLAYER RATINGS
Ederson 6/10
The custodian couldn’t have done anything for the goal which he conceded and apart from that, he had a decent game between the sticks.
Kyle Walker 7/10
Walker was industrious down the right as he kept marauding forward to stretch the backline of Howe’s side. Besides, he was sound in terms of his defensive contributions as well.
Nicolas Otamendi 7/10
At the heart of Manchester City’s defence, Otamendi looked assured and dealt well with Callum Wilson. He won 1 tackle and 3 aerial duels and has taken his opportunity well since Stones’ injury.
Aymeric Laporte 7/10
Won 4 aerial duels and was on point with his passing in the opponent’s half.
Oleksandr Zinchenko 7/10
Although he took some time to find his footing in the game, he imposed his presence as the game went on and knitted a fine balance between his defensive and offensive duties thus strengthening his first-team place even more.
Ilkay Gundogan 7/10
Gundogan shielded the backline well playing in a slightly deeper role and played his part well in dictating the tempo of the game. Won 4 tackles.
David Silva 8/10
Two assists and a pass accuracy of 90% to celebrate his 400th appearance in a Manchester City shirt. Caused all sorts of problems for the Bournemouth midfield and defence popping up between the lines regularly.
Kevin De Bruyne 6/10
Although he was far from his best, he picked up an assist and made 3 dribbles, becoming the fastest player to reach 50 assists in Premier League history.
Bernardo Silva 6/10
An unremarkable game especially in the final third. Good work rate though, as we have come to expect from him.
Raheem Sterling 6/10
The English international continued his good run of form against Bournemouth and bagged a goal. However, his overall play left a lot to be desired given his high standards.
Sergio Aguero 8/10
Aguero showed his lethal touch bagging a brace showing sharpness and awareness in the box. Notched up his 400th career goal for both club and country.
Substitutions
Rodri 7/10
Rodri shored things up brilliantly after coming on and ensured City faced no further scares after restoring their 2-goal cushion.
