Tottenham Hotspur eyeing a transfer for Brazilian star: A smashing move by Pochettino?

Tottenham Hotspur, who had been quiet in the transfer market for over a year, have come alive ahead of the 2019-20 season, breaking their club transfer record to sign Tanguy Ndombélé and Jack Clarke.

Spurs are now interested in signing decorated Brazilian full-back Dani Alves, who is currently without a club after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired last month.

The 36-year-old Brazilian captain is reportedly a target for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, as per Duncan Castles.

The report suggests that Spurs want to free up transfer funds to sign Giovani Lo Celso, and are ready to sell current right-backs Serge Aurier and Kieran Trippier, while signing Alves on a free transfer.

Castles says that Alves has previously spoken about his desire to play in England and that Spurs have had “contact” with him.

Alves, who recently won Copa America with Brazil, is also wanted by Spurs’ arch-rivals Arsenal, while his former manager Pep Guardiola, is also reportedly interested in bringing him to Manchester City.

The Brazilian became the first player ever to win 40 trophies, which he has won with Bahia, Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and the Brazilian national team.

A smashing move if Tottenham can sign Dani Alves

Alves has shown in the last season or so that he has still got it, playing 32 games for the French champions, scoring thrice and completing eight assists.

The veteran Brazilian could be a shrewd signing by Pochettino as a one-year deal could make for a good move for both parties. His experience, determination, as well as his very good attacking skills could bode well for a young Spurs team.

Alves is a versatile player who played as a right-back, right wing-back, right midfielder, as well as central positions as a central midfielder or defensive midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain last season.

With Aurier and Trippier reportedly set to leave, Spurs need cover at right back as the only other first-team right back they have is 22-year-old Kyle Walker-Peters.

Alves’ experience and winning mentality could drive Spurs up the table while also compete for trophies next season as Pochettino’s squad shapes up to challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool in the league.

I stumbledupon it here I am going to return yet again since I saved as a favorite it.
