Nottingham Forest sign exciting Premier League striker: Much-needed move by Lamouchi

Championship outfit Nottingham Forest have completed the loan signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Rafa Mir, according to a BBC report.

Apart from Nottingham Forest, fellow English second division side Birmingham City were also believed to be interested in the services of Mir.

Forest finished ninth in the Championship standings last season and to mount a serious promotion bid, they needed to bolster their arsenal substantially.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side were short of firepower and there is no denying that the signing of a blossoming young gun like Mir could benefit them to a substantial extent in the upcoming campaign.

Rafa Mir: Career so far

In the January transfer window of 2018, Mir was lured to the Molineux Stadium for a reported transfer fee of around £1.5million after he impressed for Valencia’s B side.

However, Mir struggled to live up to the high expectations which were nested on his shoulders at Wolves and he was loaned out to Spanish second-tier side Las Palmas.

The 22-year-old found the back of the net on 7 occasions in 30 league appearances and gained some valuable experience of competitive football.

Besides, he was also an instrumental figure for Spain’s Under-21 side which won the European Championship this summer as he notched up 5 goals in 10 games.

Is he worth the hype?

Mir might not be a finished article but he has a number of factors which has ensured a steady stream of interest in his services. He has a decent burst of pace and he works incredibly hard on the pitch.

Notably, he is a very mobile attacker as he moves into the wide areas on a regular basis to link up with his teammates and has an eye to score goals and to create chances.

Moreover, he is tall and powerful and has been hardly seen as lacking confidence in his endeavours. He has the tendency to pop up at the right time inside the box and his predatory instincts will come in handy for Forest.

The Reds do have Lewis Grabban, Tyler Walker and Jason Cummings in their arsenal but the entry of Mir will bring a much-needed competition for places in the squad and give Lamouchi a welcome headache.

I really like what you guys tend to be up too. This kind of clever work and reporting best place!
