West Ham United keeping tabs on Premier League forward: What will he offer?

West Ham United are looking to strengthen their strike-force, and are eyeing a move for Fulham striker Aleksander Mitrovic.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers are keeping close tabs on the Serbian, who had an excellent individual season with the Cottagers.

Mitrovic scored 11 goals and assisted thrice in 39 appearances for the London club across all competitions, but it wasn’t enough to save his side from relegation.

The 24-year old is keen to stay in the English top-flight, and considering the season he had with Fulham, it’s unlikely there will be a shortage of offers on his table.

What will Aleksandar Mitrovic offer West Ham United?

The Serbian International can serve as the lone man up front as Manuel Pellegrini’s formation takes a 4-5-1 shape when they don’t have the ball. Mitrovic can be a handful for the opposition with his physical style of play.

Mitrovic individually accounted for 32% of Fulham’s goals and finished the season as their top scorer. During the season, he hit the bar on five separate occasions and also managed three assists, finishing top three in the assists chart for the London club.

The 24-year-old’s finishing, long shots from outside the box and his heading ability inside the 18-yard area are some of the key areas where he thrives the most. He managed an average of 3.8 shots per 90 minutes, which highlights his confidence in front of the goal.

Mitrovic’s aerial prowess also remains unparalleled; in 2018/19 campaign the Serbian managed an average of 6.3 aerial duels won per game, leading the charts for the most aerial duels won by a player in the league.

With players like Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko, and Felipe Anderson by his side, all Mitrovic needs is some space and a good cross, and he will score goals for the Londoners.

However, the 24-year-old needs to work on his passing. He averaged a pass success of 71.1, and also lost possession 3 times per game on an average.

A strong character both on and off the pitch, Mitrovic often bullies the defenders and is already a proven Premier League player, having featured for before his spell with Fulham.
