Manchester United’s squad might have a different look next season as the club will release few players and there are likely to be new arrivals.
The Red Devils have completed the signing of young winger Daniel James, and are closing in on 21-year-old right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
A few players could also leave the club, with £75 million signing Romelu Lukaku rumoured to complete a move to Inter Milan, as per various reports.
If the Belgian does move to Inter, the Red Devils will need to sign a replacement for him as they will only be left with Marcus Rashford as their lone first-team striker.
Manchester United want Sevilla’s Wissam Ben Yedder, who is coming off of a fantastic season with the Spanish club, to fill the void should Lukaku leave the club.
The report by ABC de Sevilla states that the English giants could trigger Ben Yedder’s release clause, which is set at £35.9 million. The 28-year-old’s contract with the Spanish side expires in 2021.
The Frenchman has been a key goalscorer for the club since signing for them in 2016 for around €9 million. Ben Yedder has scored 70 goals in 136 games for the club, including 30 goals in the 2018-19 season.
Ben Yedder made his debut for the French national team in 2018, and has gone on to make 4 appearances, and has scored one goal on the process.
Is Ben Yedder the right option for Manchester United?
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to favour attackers with pace, who like to run directly at defences, which is why he chose to play Marcus Rashford over Lukaku when he took charge.
With Lukaku possibly leaving, the Red Devils would need a potent goalscoring forward, someone who can challenge and push Rashford, as well as score a lot of goals himself.
Ben Yedder could be a player who fits the bill and could maybe be a very shrewd signing for the English club.
The Frenchman is a good dribbler of the ball, and likes to take on defences with his pace and fantastic dribbling, while he is also a neat finisher.
Ben Yedder has scored 151 goals in 334 games in club football, which is almost one goal every other game – a fantastic goalscoring ratio. He is an experienced forward who has European experience and at £35.9 million, is a bargain.
