Manchester United target wants Premier League move: Should the Red Devils sign him?

Manchester United seem to be linked with quite a few players over the last few weeks as the Red Devils are stepping up their search to find new players to take them back to where they belong.

The English club have already confirmed the signing of 21-year-old winger Daniel James, and are closing in on the signature of another exciting young player in Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Now, United have been linked with a move for Juventus winger Douglas Costa, who has revealed that he wants to play in England following rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United, as per Express.

The 28-year-old said that he may not move right now and that he is keen to work with new Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri.

The Brazilian’s contract with Juventus expires in 2022, having signed a four-year contract with the club just last year.

Douglas Costa – Profile

Costa joined the Italian club ahead of the 2018-19 season from Bayern Munich, after spending a year on loan at the Serie A champions.

The Brazilian winger has found it tough to find game time at Juventus and has been used sporadically, mainly from the bench.

The winger made 25 appearances for the club in the 2018-19 season, of which he started just 10 times for the club. Costa scored just one goal and made two assists in the entire 2018-19 season for Juventus.

The Brazilian international has made 31 appearances for the national team since making his debut in 2014.

Should Manchester United move in for Douglas Costa?

The Red Devils need to add quality players to their side, but should not commit the same mistake that they did with Alexis Sanchez, by buying a player who is widely experienced and may have just a few years of top-quality football to produce.

Douglas Costa is an exciting player who could be a good fit for Manchester United, but the English club have already bought a winger in Daniel James, while also extending the contract of another right-sided player, Juan Mata.

The arrival of Costa would reduce the playing time of either of these players, which would not make sense. What United need right now is a striker, if Romelu Lukaku leaves the club, a centre-back, and at least two central midfielders.

Costa doesn’t seem like a good option for Manchester United at the moment.
