Leeds United should target these 3 players as they look set to miss out on Clarke – Opinion

Leeds United are set to lose out on Portsmouth defender Matt Clarke, according to Brighton and Hove independent, as the young defender has had his medical with the Seagulls.

The 22-year-old defender attracted interest from Stoke City as well as Leeds United, but looks set for a move to the Premier League.

The Whites will now have to turn their attention to other defenders before the start of the new season.

With that, here are 3 alternative players that Leeds United can pursue if they lose out on Clarke:

Tosin Adarabioyo (Manchester City)

Manchester City’s young defender Tosin Adarabioyo spent the last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion, where he showed glimpses of his talent in the 36 appearances he made for the Championship side across all competitions.

The 21-year-old defender is highly-rated and could become a good Premier League defender in the future.

Tall and aggressive, Adarabioyo could benefit from a loan spell at Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa, before he tries his luck in the Premier League.

Ben White (Brighton)

Another promising central defender who plays for a Premier League side, Brighton’s Ben White is a defender who has the potential to be a top player.

The 21-year-old centre back stands just shy of 6 feet, but makes up for his lack of height with aggressive tackling and good positioning, while he also offers versatility as he can play at centre or right-back.

White is good with the ball at his feet and can pass the ball out from the back, something Bielsa prefers.

In the 2018-19 season, White played for League 1 side Peterborough United when he joined them on loan in January, and went on to make 16 appearances.

Silvan Hefti (St. Gallen)

Recent reports have also linked Leeds United with 21-year-old Swiss centre back Silvan Hefti, with Tutto Bologna Web reporting that Leeds United are set to make a bid of £2.2 million.

Hefti plays for St. Gallen, and has made over 100 appearances for the club and even captains the side, despite being just 21 years of age.

He made 40 appearances for the club in the 2018-19 season, scoring twice, as the side finished 6th in the Swiss league.

The youngster is a leader at the back and is a versatile player who can play at centre-back and right-back.

Its appropriate time to make some plans for the long run and it is time to be happy. I have read this post best place and if I may I want to counsel you some interesting things or advice.
