Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen suffered a nasty head clash in the game against Ajax. Spurs have confirmed that the Belgian did not suffer a concussion but it’s likely that he will sit out this weekend’s Premier League fixture.
Son Heung-min will return to the Spurs team after serving his suspension in the Champions League semi-final match against Ajax.
Predicted Tottenham Lineup vs Bournemouth
Defence
Hugo Lloris will start in goal for Tottenham against Bournemouth. Spurs will most likely revert to a four-back defensive formation for their match against Bournemouth. Toby Alderweireld or Davinson Sánchez might start at the heart of the defence, and one of them could partner Juan Foyth to keep one defender fresh for the Ajax clash.
Kieran Trippier will start at right-back as Serge Aurier is yet to recover from his hamstring injury, but Pochettino could even play Foyth at right-back, while Ben Davies will play at left-back for Spurs.
Midfield
If Pochettino continues to use the diamond formation that he used in Spurs’ last game against West Ham United, where they lost 0-1 at home, we could see Eric Dier, who was an unused substitute against Ajax, return to the base of the diamond, with Dele Alli at the tip of the diamond formation.
Christian Eriksen will take the other central midfield role, and with Harry Winks still out due to injury, Moussa Sissoko will return to the Spurs midfield.
Attack
The Spurs attack will get a huge fillip with the return of Son Heung-min to the line-up. The South Korean, who has 20 goals this season, will be the main man in attack for the London club, and he will most likely play alongside Lucas Moura.
