Gomes to Return: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Everton Lineup vs Tottenham Hotspur

Everton will look to finish their Premier League campaign on a positive note when they travel to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Toffees have had an exciting campaign under Marco Silva, and a win against Spurs would be a fitting way to end a promising start under the Portuguese manager.

Everton team news

Dominic Calvert-Lewin picked up a knock in training and won’t feature against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. Richarlison is also out with a rib injury while Seamus Coleman is a doubt after sustaining a groin problem. He will face a late assessment.

Predicted Everton lineup vs Tottenham Hotspur

Defence

Jonjoe Kenny will be in standby to replace Coleman in the right-back role, should the Irishman fail to return to full fitness this weekend.

As for Lucas Digne, he is a surefire starter on the opposite flank, where he will look to offer additional support to the attackers. The Frenchman has been one of the main sources of creativity for Everton this campaign.

The central defensive pairing will remain unchanged with Kurt Zouma likely to get the nod ahead of Yerry Mina and the veteran Phil Jagielka. It will be Zouma’s last game for Everton as per his contractual agreement and the Frenchman will partner Michael Keane at the heart of Everton’s four-man backline.

Jordan Pickford is the undisputed number one ‘keeper for the Toffees and the English international will expect a busy afternoon against Tottenham.

Midfield

Marco Silva will be boosted by the return of Andre Gomes, who has now completed his three-game suspension. The Portuguese international is likely to replace Morgan Schneiderlin in central midfield.

Gomes will form the double-pivot alongside the ever-present figure of Idrissa Gueye. It will be interesting to see how these two players fare against Tottenham’s robust midfield combination of Dier and Sissoko.

Elsewhere, Gylfi Sigurdsson will retain his role in the number ten position. And with Richarlison ruled out, the onus will be on the Icelandic international to deliver against his former club this weekend.

Attack

The absence of Calvert-Lewin might pave the way for Cenk Tosun to receive a rare start on Sunday. The Turkish forward will spearhead the Everton attack and will be supported by the wide-duo of Bernard and Ademola Lookman.

Lookman will replace the injured Richarlison in the right-wing slot, although Silva will also have the option of starting with the experienced Theo Walcott.
